Open Education Policy Forum 2020

For the fifth time, we are organising the Open Education Policy Forum. We do it in order to empower our community – activists, experts and policymakers working on open education policies. We want to provide an opportunity for networking, exchange of knowledge and future collaborations. And for Centrum Cyfrowe Foundation it was always a great honor to host you in Poland.

This year, we more than ever need a space for meeting, exchanging our knowledge, and sharing what we have learned from overcoming the challenges of this year. Although we are unable to invite you to Warsaw, we hope to create this space online. The Forum will consist this year of a series of online sessions, organized in collaboration with our partners, Creative Commons, Open Education Global, SPARC, Slovenian Intellectual Property Institute, and the Communia Association.

The main session of the Forum will be dedicated to presenting results of our study on Open Education responses to the pandemic, “Open Education as a game-changer – stories from the pandemic. Together with researchers from Italy, Greece, Uruguay, and Brazil we provide a comparative analysis of the role that Open Education has been playing in overcoming the educational crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The publication “Open education as a game changer – stories from the pandemic” will be available on the website on October 29.

Two additional sessions will concern copyright reform and AI in education. During the first one, we want to discuss how our advocacy should adjust to the pandemic and growing importance of remote education. The second one will address the role of AI in education and how this relates to open education policymaking.

Please save the date and join us on the 29th of October. More details, including the full program, will be shared on our website on October 15.
